Irish Language Leaflet “NO to Lisbon” launched

The Dublin launch of the Irish-language Leaflet “NO to Lisbon” takes place in Connolly Books, 43 E. Essex St., D. 2 on Friday 25th September at 1.30 p.m.

Tomás Mac Síomóin, author and philosopher, will launch the leaflet, which has already been launched in the Gaeltachtaí. The People’s Movement opposes every attempt to impose a superstate with increased military powers on the people of Europe.

The Lisbon Treaty, if passed, would give legal status to the arms industry in the EU, through the European Defence Agency. It would end our veto in 60 others areas, in addition to the 35 areas that were taken from us by the Nice Treaty.

  • An end to national sovereignty
  • Our public services – transport, post, energy and even education and health would be open to privatization for profit on the market
